Stanley Jordan gets funky

This clip from the David Letterman show is of Stanley Jordan playing a track from his now deleted album Flying Home (which went under with EMI records); its still available here though. It’s a pity that it’s not more widely available because it’s where SJ get’s closest to jazz-rock fusion and plays interesting stuff not duplicated elsewhere.

The Shadows – “The Stranger” plus “Kon Tiki” (1989)

In the late ’50s and early 1960s ‘The Stranger’ – a much slower version than here and not by the Shadows – was used as the theme tune to the Edgar Wallace mystery movies, black and white ‘B’ films in the days when you had two movies in a performance and you could smoke as much as you wanted.
